Water Infusion

Simply combine ¼ cup of herbs rich in water-soluble vitamins (B’s and C) or minerals in a glass jar and add a quart of boiling water. Cover, steep for 4-8 hours, strain and enjoy within 3 days.

Vinegar Tincture

Simply combine ¼ cup of herbs rich in water-soluble vitamins (B’s and C) or minerals in a glass jar and add a quart of warmed apple cider vinegar and cover with a nonmetal lid. Steep for one month in a cool, dark area and shake the bottle periodically. Strain, refrigerate, and enjoy for up to one year. (Vinegar chemically reacts with metal and should be kept separate to avoid interaction).

Oil Infusion

Simply combine ¼ cup of herbs rich in fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) in a glass jar, add a quart of cold-pressed oil such as olive oil and cover. Solar Infusion method: Steep for 30 days in direct sunlight shaking periodically. Stovetop method: Fill saucepan 1/4 full with water, place jars in pot on top of steamer stand or lids for protection, simmer 4-8 hours (taking care to maintain water level) and allow to cool. Strain and enjoy within one year.
